It is strong without being loud, if that makes sense. You can hear every note of a chord, and fingerpicking comes through with bell like clarity, yet none of the metallic Taylor sound. They have a unique sound, all their own, which is very articulate and delicate while projecting strongly as a dreadnought should. These are often referred to as value priced Martin killers, but that's a great disservice. Alvarez is merely a distributor for the Kazuo Yairi family business. Yairi guitars are a thing unto themselves.

Block number is 0310 046, indicating the end of emperor date coding at the turn of the century and October 2003. Previously mistaken used sound hole label. If you watch Yahoo Japan you`ll see all kinds of unbelievable bagains on nylons.Date revised based on block number. If you`re looking for a nylon string, you`re in the right place.one week a while ago I got 2.one cost me 21 yen, and it turned out to be all solid wood, but nobody can read the maker`s signature on the label so I can`t search for info on him.the other cost me 100 yen, a Masao Koga all laminate, but it sounds very good too. I guess you haven`t looked at the linked site yet because you`d see some people string their Dynamics with steel strings due to the metal winding posts, I tried it but find they sound so much better with nylons. The box is in very good condition and the guitar itself, a #1, is nearly mint except for one scratch on the back. Heres the link.the Dynamic labels went through several changes over the years, if you find one posy here and I`ll see if I can tell you something about it. The Dynamics are all solid wood, and my oldest goes back to the early `50s, just got it a couple of months ago, it`s in near mint condition and I paid $60.oo with the original shipping cardboard box, that was a first for me.how many people keep a cardboard box for 50 years? Can`t recommend the Dynamics highly enough, and you`re here so you will find em.look in the Hard Offs, they get guitars.2nd Streets and antique shops too. Heres a link to a Yamaha Dynami web site.this is where members post pics of thiers.I`ve paid as little as $10.oo for some Dynamics and as much as $150.oo.do a search and you `ll see pics pf mine here that I posted before, regular members must be sick a seein` em so I won`t post em again in this thread, but follow the link. I have a whole bunch of old MIJ nylon strings.just can`t seem to stop buyin em. Nagoya.a place where so many great acoustics were made back in the day.I have a 1948 Suzuki from there as well as other makers.S.Yairi for example, seems to have been a hotbed for guitars. So you bought one, I`ll see if the local branch has one in stock to have a look. Yeah, they call them Rock Inn.a play on Rockin`. I have 29 of them now and am always looking for more. Since you are here look for a used Yamaha Dynamic too.outstanding guitars and very often dirt cheap.made from the early 1950s to the mid 1960s when the FGs were introduced. If I were you I`d buy used, believe it or not I`ve paid very little for some of my Sadao Yairis, under $100.oo in some cases.mine date from 1961 to 1971, fabulous guitars. Not sure where you are in Japan, but if theres a Rock Inn in your city they can contact the other branches and get guitars sent to them from anywhere in Japan if the model you want is sold out in your city. Never heard of Kasuga Yairi.do know about another brand called Kasuga, they show up on line here all the time. The original Yairi left the Suzuki violin company in 1935 to start his own company, he led to the two others.Sada and ems the story gets murky.something happened and they split.I`ve read they were brothers and also cousins, whatever the real story Kazuo isn`t talking about it. The current S Yairis have no affiliation to the original Sada, he`s dead, and most are outsourced, though the top ends are MIJ I`m not sure who`s building them.I doubt it`s K Yairi since there was some bad blood between them at one time. We have both Alvarez Yairi and K.Yairis here, made by the same folks.

The high end ones I saw last week started at $1500.oo and went up to $2500.oo, there were 4 or 5 of those and all the rest are lower priced models, though some were over $1000.oo as well, most ran between $500.oo and $800.oo I guess. The local Rock Inn has a whole bunch of K.Yairis.must be 100 of em, and I`ve never played any. I own several Yairis but ,mine are Sadaos.also known as Sada.and are nylon strings.
